Re:The sin of murmuring.

If history of God's children is anything to go by,then, murmuring,innocent as it may appear to be, has destroyed many societies,individuals,churches,& families.How so? Check the following:

1.If you read the book of Numbers,you will be shocked with the murmuring of the children of Israel.Their song of murmuring day in,day out, annoyed God and Moses.They murmured for almost anything to a point that Moses,the meekest man on earth,became so angry that he stroke the rock twice.It did cost him the earthly Canaan.

2.Acts Chapter 6 tells us that as the Apostolic church grew,murmuring came up for perceived unfairness.To solve the problem,the Apostles appointed 7 deacons of good report to take care of the problem. This allowed the apostles the needed opportunity to concentrate on preaching the word.

What about our time and age? Has anything changed?

1.There are couples who have gone separate ways due to this murmuring.Who wants someone murmuring all day long? Many spouses stay away from their homes simply because they can not take it any more.There are spouses who have truly majored in murmuring and have not known to have taken any class,not even an elective in peace making.Ask yourself this honest question.What kind of a spouse are you? Why do you murmur all the time? Many Christians have found comfort and may be support of staying away from such spouses by reading the book of Proverbs."It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,than with a brawling woman and in a wide house." (Proverbs 25:25).The same can be said of men.

2.There are some church members who are known to complain of everything.Anytime they go to church,they spend more time finding fault in both the pastor/s and fellow believers.Nothing makes sense except that which is done by them.As soon as one pastor is transferred and a new one comes,then begins their game.There is every need to grow out of this mentality.

3.Everywhere you go-school,work,community,and what have you...You will find people who love this game of fault finding and murmuring.

The saddest thing though,is that their cherished toy of murmuring goes to destroy others.And so I end this article with this question " What kind of person are You? Do you see sense in bringing peace and harmony to others or what? By the way, have you ever sat down to consider the damage and pain that your murmuring has caused and continue to cause to others?
