Re: It was never meant to be so. Today was one of those sad days; a day that I would not help but cry out loud and clear "For how long dear Lord?" A very beautiful and well dressed middle aged woman walked into my place of work with a box full of documents to xerox. Nothing new for I have seen several of them before. But this one was quite different. She was soft spoken, show great respect, used magic words time and again, and was willing to be helped.Humbled and moved by her postive attitude,I decided to help.In the process, she thanked me several times that I did not know what to say. Then her cell phone rang, and then the painful conversation"I never knew it will come to this.I am totally confused and have no idea where to go from here." Yes,she was apparently lamenting what from her conversation appeared to be a very painful divorce." Her work done, she thanked me again several times before she existed to who knows where. It was then that my computer responded,"Divorce! It was never meant to be!" Divorce comes with a luggage too heavy to carry.Below are some of the challenges: 1.Both spouses will never be the same again. 2.A sense of guilty and failure in life will come knocking day to day. 3.Memories of the time you spent together will always haunt you. 4. Children,if any,In laws, parents, siblings, friends, church members and the community get affected beyond repair. 5.Although you may get a new companion who according to your assessment is better than your X,at least for now,she or he will with time remind you the old sad mewmories. All things considered, divorce is ugly in all it's phases. Let us do all we can to to remain together till,"dead again do us a part. Shall we? Just a trhought.
