Langata seat is vacant! Mutegi Revisit Your Civics - By Arreddo Nyang' I will begin by saying that technically Gitonga Mutegi has lost a sense of direction, or he never understood the elementary GHC at standard 8, or never did History and Government at Secondary level. The Langata parliamentary seat (and any other) cannot fall vacant until or unless: 1. The current sitting Mp declares in writting to the Speaker of the Asembly I have defected. 2. He absents hinmself from the House for someperiod (I will revisit my Civics lesson) which has been constitutionally stipulated. (Remember the case of Matiba who made technical appearance to avoid losing his seat in the 90's?). 3. If the MP runs mad and declared by recorgnized hospital/medically institution that he has develeoped mental disorders that cannot allow him to perform his duties. 4. If he is declared bankrup by the High Court of Kenya Given that the sitting Langata MP has not met any of the above qualification, I unreservedly cautiobn Gitegi that his remarks are wanting in flavor, misleading in idea and out of context - biased to an individual. Anything more? Go back and read History and Government, particularly Natinal Assembly and the Legislature. Good times! Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
