Which way for the poor man? I just watched some documentary news from NTV just the other day by Peninah Karibe. It touched me to see that contrary to many beliefs very many Kikuyus are suffering like the rest of Kenya. Some stay with hardly a meal a day and many are struggling to make ends meet. My dear brothers and sisters, it is not about Kikuyunization of politics, it's about the stinking rich guys holding the poor at ransom and painting a good picture of "progress". It only happens by good chance that most of these rich guys are Kikuyus. Yes the Kibaki tena have for some time been singing the old boring song of "Develpment record" a serious hoax. I tend to think that more was done in the first 5 years of Moi rule than what is claimed to have been done in the past 5 years of Kibaki rule. My warning is that Kibaki operates like a mole when he wants to have something only to show his true intentions when it is too late for the affected. Don't underrate this man and think that he does not have a hand on all that is going on in this government. He knows everything and is on top of it. He only plays hands-off so that nobody puts direct blame on him. The parties that are currently coalescing around the president are yet to get the rude shock. Does any one understand what Kibaki's PALEPALE and HAPOHAPO means? You remember Matere Kereri saying that the Narc MOU was signed mainly to get votes from the affiliate parties and that the game plan was to ditch these parties and begin the "Kikuyunization" process. The same is about to take place. Who or which party will remain supreme in the PNU is the next question? Expect a fall out. One plus one will not add to two but remain one; meaning most of the parties have very little influence nationwide hence the idea of letting the regions field candidates in areas they are deemed to dominate hold no water. Which areas are these? Ford people is dead in Kisii and Kuria, Ford Kenya covers Bukusu land but is not guaranteed much. Shirikisho is not part of the alliance but Makwere is. Narc Kenya and DP and Agano come from central Kenya and Kikuyu Rift valley. Who fields who? KANU does not exist anymore though the ex-chairman still dreams of a united KANU. One country with sincere leaders is the ideal that we need and we want one who can take us at least to the closest level of attaining this goal. A kikuyu common man is also Kenyan and is our brother or sister and should join hand to achieving this goal. Arthur Ogendo Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
