Ramogi Community in Canada - Launch
Luos in
Canada will this Saturday September 8th,
2007 officially launch “Ramogi Community in
Canada” at a colourful Dinner & Dance gala scheduled
to take place at Maple Banquet Hall within the Greater Toronto Area in
Canada. The umbrella organization that brings
together all Luos living in
Canada has been in existence for almost
one and a half years even though low profile. High profile Canadian political
personalities have been invited to grace the occasion where there will also
be a special presentation featuring our history as a people.
Following the last members meeting held in August 2007, it has
now become evident that the initiatives that have been previously discussed
will be systematically executed in time to allow us to form a strong force
here in Canada paving way for a need to lay strategies on how we can continue
to collectively address issues affecting our people back home in Kenya especially
Luo-Nyanza.
The
details of the event are as follows:
Date: Sept.
8th, 2007: 6:30pm – 2am
Venue:
MAPLE BANQUET HALL,
Address:
1325 EGLINTON Avenue East (Dixie & Eglinton)
Our
own Kenyan born Deejays Solo & Paul of “Ohangla Entertainments” will
be spinning to the latest Luo rhythms including nyatiti, benga and so on.
Guests
who are coming from out of town will be staying at the Holiday Inn as per
the information below and everyone is advised to call the hotel directly
and make their own accommodation arrangements:
Holiday Inn Express
TORONTO-AIRPORT AREA/DIXIE RD
Thanks,
Ben Ondoro
