re: Why I question Raila leadership, and why I can't vote for him From: Clement Gitonga I'm always filled with pity and anger at the same time when I read articles written by people like James Ngethe. His article is filled with trash that he can't substantiate or provide evidence. For example, this fella gives examples of cases when Raila has caused trouble without giving a background of all the incidents and leave Kenyans to Judge what they could have done were they in Raila's shoes! I say, if a shoe doesn't fit you, discard it and buy another! Or would you rather be uncomfortable just to show how much you love your shoes or how consistent you are! Hell NO! Another thing is the Kibera underdevelopment that this Ngethe fella is heaping on Raila. He's conveniently forgetting that Kibera is under the Nairobi City Council, which is under the Ministry of local government. Therefore, Kibera's failure is a result of poor urban planning by the government and not by the Legislature bwana Raila, whose work as an MP is to make Laws and not to tarmac roads and provide water..... etc That's the work of the government to which we pay taxes! Full stop. The issue of the underdevelopment in Nyanza, everyone apart from Ngethe knows that Nyanza's sidelining began during the tribalistic misrule of Jomo Kenyatta due to political differences between Oginga and Kenyatta. So Ngethe please stop shaming your history teacher. About Raila failing during his presidential bid, you forget that Mwai Kibaki failed twice and were it not for Raila's generosity and nationalism, he could have failed the third time! Raila failed once and won in 2002 only to give it to kibaki. This is the year of reckoning brother Ngethe. About Luo Thrift and Molasseses plant, I won't even waste time explaining them to you, just send a request to members of this site to enlighten you on those two issues. About the corruption in the Energy ministry, why don't you publish the evidence and also forward it to KACC. In fact I'll make your work easier, just publish a substantial allegation on this site. On the tribe issue, I’m rather surprised and feel rather sad that even after the sacrifices that Amolo has done for the sake of Kenya, you still have the audacity to call him a tribalist. Do you think he went to jail for 8 years just for the interest of the Luo? That's rather stupid of you! Do you think he sacrificed his presidential ambitions in 2002 for the benefit of Luo? How I pity you Ngethe and those others that belong to your school of thinking. The Kikuyu's are the tribalists. Ever heard of 'mundu wa nyumba' and the presidency belongs to the house of mumbi! Kikuyu's are the tribal chauvinist that we have in Kenya. If you want to know, just ask any Kikuyu why they would not vote for Raila and they will tell you it's because he's not 'mundu wa nyumba' . And by the way, have Kikuyu's ever supported anyone outside their tribe for the presidency? When Moi was in power, they were against him because he's not Kikuyu. And why is Uhuru Kenyatta warming up to the Kibaki camp? You guessed right, it's because they share the same house of Mumbi. What I'm telling the likes of James Ngethe is to do justice to their small brains by trying to think outside their tribal domain. I'm from Meru and me, like a growing number of people from my region, my vote goes to RAILA AMOLO ODINGA. -- Never miss an opportunity to be great. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
