Both Meshack and Otura have raised fundamental questions here. I applaud both.

Meshack, I am not surprised that Luo MPs have kept silent over the arrest and incarceration of the fishermen. Remember, a while ago the same Luo MPs planned to lease Lake Victoria to a South African firm. Had it not been because of the vibrancy of the civil society and ordinary Luos who stood up and opposed the idea, the situation would have been different. Majority of our MPs do not have developmental interest of their communities at heart, they perfect the art of public pronouncements in Nairobi and at Funerals. This compares extremely unfavorably with MPs from Mt. Kenya region and the expansive Rift Valley who make similar public pronouncements at FUND-DRIVE in a schools, Churches or water project commissioning. Additionally, I recently brought to the this forum how CDF money was returned to the Treasury from Bondo and Alego-Usonga as unspent money, a situation I find unacceptable, revolting and ridiculous putting into account the state of our schools and Health facilities. We diasporians should debate and campaign against MPs who under- perform to be voted out at the next elections this year. If I were to vote in more than 1 constituency in Nyanza, I would vote for Professor Anyanyi Nyong'o, Raphael Tugu, Jakoyo Midiwo, Otieno Kajwangi and Dalmas Otieno.

Otura, we have disagreed on many issues before, but this is the second issues that I am 100% in agreement with your assertion. In London, we have an individual that is behaving exactly as the person who have described below. The individual has been at the centre of division within the ODM supporters in the UK. His claim is that he is the ONLY gateway to Raila. Recently at a meeting in London with Raila on his way to the US, Raila had to reprimand him to sit down and allow people to talk to him directly. The person is basically a pest. We need to realize that Raila is a Nationalist and he is going to be the PEOPLES PRESIDENT, TO ALL KENYANS. Raila is very experienced politician and he is aware of the infamous days of Hezekiah Oyugi where No Luo could see Moi without going through Ojugi.
