Inappropriate Branding of Raila Political leadership by Media

While Raila Odinga enjoys popular support from the Luo community, it is important to realize that the media has to be cautioned against unpopular branding of Raila as a Luo Leader. Raila is a Nationalist and he has earned this title. He supported Kibaki to be the NARC torch bearer when the Nyachaes, Kalonzos and others wanted to be name the torch bearer of NARC. We did not hear the Kikuyus calling him a Luo tribal leader then. As kenyans we ought to be carefull with what media publishes for public consumtion on our individual leaders. When you read most news articles touching on Raila, he is referred to as the Luo King pin. Just what is this reference supposed to mean? Do we ask what the impliative inference this means? We have to protect the image of leaders like Raila from some media scapegoats. Raila is a National Leader in the eyes of the entire Republic and the Luo community is proud of this period. The same caution should apply to all the ethnic minded Kenyans who like to misunderstand concepts and yet make it public to send wrong message.
