Re: KBC ni kiboko yao Kuria-Mwangi - - kjmwangi@ . . . wrote: Odhis II, I have never complained about too many women, except when they want to extra some benjamins from my wallet. You guys are taking me back to my memory lane with those KBC stuff. I was fun of it's music even those days of VOK and still remember the days of Job Isaac Mwamuto (My friend Jared was then living the world of there and then) and several other Veteran DJs....Kazungu wa Katana of Yours For the asking, James (?) Ngigi of Sundowner, the Omolohs, and Sara who did Country Music (this one is a Kikuyu thing....Been wondering why Kameme does Kikuyu benga played hand in hand with country music and why Kik politicians think being a cow boy is a cool thing). But my music interests were horned by VOK/KBC and do remember Iglesias very well and still have his music including too many women. Like a good Kikuyu boy, I collected lots of country music and up to now Blacks dont forgive me for liking country (they say it is white people's shit) music. I attend country music concerts when they come to downtown Baltimore. it is a city of 70% black but such concerts has only Kuria Mwangi and a few "lost" black in attendance. One time I attended an Allan Jackson concert and had over 10,000 in concert with two other black folks only. I was there when Boney M was the in thing and we had sweet melodies starting at 6am to midnight. I hated Jazz hours but had to pretend to like it when some ozone women came visiting. No district focus boy would find Jazz interesting and up to now dont even attend free Jazz concerts. i can do hip hop and do like TZ hip hop because they have a message unlike our kids who are singing of "we are coming to bewitch you" (tume kuja kukuloga) and about kiruru (when did it become a swahili word for beer? I hope Oketch has mastered enough sheng to use it in mtaa for campaigns. No Julio Iglesias on stage, just do some hip hop. Where did Gidi Gidi go? Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
