Court Freezes CDF Accounts in Malava

Glancing through Nation's Thursday newspaper, the above title caught my eye. I had never heard or been aware of a case in which citizens sued Kenyan MPs for misuse of CDF funds. Transparency for that matter has been a dream for many Kenyans, therefore this situation in Malava sounded like music to me.

If this trend could be carried on throughout the nation, making MPs accountable for each and every cent of the funds they are entrusted with, then we would be able to see development throughtout the nation. Any of our leaders diverting from this would quickly learn that not only is "SUE" the name of a female, but a lethal weapon.

It sounds like a dream, but it could be a reality. Question is, will the next government allow us citizens as well as educate the entire nation that it is our right to demand this transparency. And when we demand it, will the government give us that right?????
