Re: KBC ni kiboko yao Kuria-Mwangi, Ume ni jazz. Komarock is one hell of a Ward that they call English in Nairobi. When we attend our political meetings, some call me in jest, Chairman ya wados, just because Koma is the only settlement in Nairobi that is complete by itself. Almost everybody drives to work, and almost everybody is connected to the net. It makes communication easier. Again Koma is the only estate where news, both at 7pm and at 9pm are mandatory. Go to places like Nairobi West, beer and music is more important to the patrons than news. Not so with Koma. And this gives the residents of Komarock that feeling of deja vu. We know what we want, and we know how to get the same. Back to KBC, my love for their music goes back to when I was in primary 6 in 1977. Those days, VOK used to be a monopoly. I loved the sundowner to an extent that I used to have a pocket radio as I looked after our cattle. At night, no sleep could come my way untill the late date was done. And N'otiya just mentioned some music that I really loved but could not sing. That tradition still goes on at KBC, and music seems to be the only good thing from that station. Not so with their news coverage. They tend to forget that Moi used the same station as a political tool but still lost with his first project. Now that Kibaki has become Moi's project 2, and given the level of sofistication in Kenya, moreso in Komarock, I doubt whether Project 2 will succed. And man, you are not alone in to the craze with country music. Remember Kenny Rogers with 'every one considered him..........his mama called him Tommy........' I do not know the words, but I like the song. That song is called coward something. Anyway, I have to leave. There is some little weed to attend to in my garden.
