Why I question Raila Odinga by J. Ngethe

Mr. Ngethe just imagine, that Millions of Kenyans are prepared to vote for this Man Raila Odinga. For whatever reason, you will never succeed in convincing these die -hard fanatics of Raila Odinga to change their mind about the Man. As you say there must be something about him that is not right (according to the looters of the Kenyan Nation) He does not entertain corruption. As for the Luo thrift, try to read more history.

To tell you the truth, I have tried finding 'this thing" which freaks most elite Leaders about the man, and surprisingly it does not come out clearly for most of our shallow minds. It is only when you start digging deep and using a bit of brain, that you will find out what makes this man Raila tick.

One of the biggest and more obvious thing about the man is that, after going through part of his schooling before joining a Technical institution, he was in a fast developing Western Nation which is Germany. So as a young man he grew through a system that works, (no corruption from the people who are supposed to protect the state) Now when Raila fills his mind with these kind of expectation within Kenyan Fraternity, he is bound to be disappointed, and badly at that. Raila Keeps illusioning that people like Former President Moi and his henchmen and now Kibaki and his henchmen can have the Guts to try to put a stop to corruption. Sorry this can never happen. As an English adage says "When you want a job well done the do it yourself". That is why he is going for the Top seat now to enable him do a job well.

Well after joining Kanu, then finally realising that Kanu could perform corruption under your nose and then ask you to rubber stamp it, he decided to have nothing to do with it. He bolted out. The same attitude that the "Johny come latelys" did in FORD wanting to reap where they did not saw. They were also thinking that OGINGA was just, a cash withdrawal bank. Every Tom Dick and Harry could walk to him from any corner of Muranga ,Kingango, makueni, Alego, Bungoma, Lari, Tetu, Embakasi, Langa Langa, Mumuias, mention it! they all came to dupe Mzee Odinga to get them money on the pretext that they were campaigning for FORD. Finally Raila put a stop to that. He kicked all their butts out and saved his father from loosing Millions of Shillings. When they could get money no more, came another Victim called Matiba.

Immediately the pack of vultures saw a new carcass in the form of Matiba . They immediately flew off and swarmed Matiba, not because they believed in the Man, but simply because Matiba was ready to prove to the world that money was not a problem with him, and the Vultures were more than willing to become millionares themselves by cheating this well meaning man. The truth is, they cleaned him dry. Who could ever think that Matibas property could be auctioned or Matiba be taken to court for owing some people or organizations? But after the Vultures were done with him he was almost left penniless.

Now Mr Ngethe, have you ever seen anybody talking about raising Ford Asili from the ASHES? No! The mongrels are gone and Matiba is less monied, not as before. Had he had Raila behind him, he could still be having some of those Millions the Vultures ripped apart. When Jaramogi remained in Ford-Kenya. He had a few True genuine Leaders,. The likes of P Muite, Masinde Muliro and of course a few others, but the great majority were still wearing wings of Vultures. All they wanted to do was to feed on the carcass. They had no substance, but could eat with relish. Some still declare openly that they are only in Kibakis Government to "Eat" For a sober mind where do you think these kind of Leaders can take Kenya? This is the more reason why Raila disagrees with them. Raila is not the type you can use as a rubber stamp. He refused to do it during Referendum. "He must be a real bad man!!" Mundu mukigu ma! But you know what? The Citizens love him to death, because he fights for them .

In conclusion I can say here that Raila's thinking is too advanced for simple brains like mine yours. When we make our simple observation and chronologically list the mans path to political Prowess it does not mean that we can make a qualified analysis of the mans character. All I can say is thet just the thought of Raila ascending to power makes most of us palpate in sweat, some of us worried stiff that he will throw us in jail because of our corrupt past. While others are sweating with a whole load of happiness that at last we shall be freed from murderers and corruption Kings. Whether we choose to vote for him or not, other millions of Kenyans might still vote this man into power.

If and when this happens, what will we do? Run away from Kenya? I think the best thing to do is to be open to all those possibilities so that when it happens we will not get heart attacks. We will have to live with that Raila as President, though now we still live in illusion that he is unelectable.
