Remembering Hornbill Jakababa!

Death is and has always been a bad reaper. Death took away a young fellow, Hornbill Jakababa, a Kenya music artist two weeks ago. This young man was just beginning to reach his peak in Luo rap, but he suddenly died on the 27th, August 2007.

I was with him on saturday and left him in town going to produce his latest hit "Dr Mbare Oromo Telo" http://www.abo.fi/~ombare/Track1.wma . I was also in a hurry, rushing to attend the fundraising tournament in honour of Raila Odinga at the Nyayo Stadium. The following day I was enroute to Europe. After two days, I called this fellow to update me about his music production. His brother, who picked his phone informed me that Horbill passed away and they have just sent him to the mortuary. Death can be very cruel.

Hornbill will be remembered for his skills in rap music. He was a very humble boy who went about his work with a lot of discipline. Among some of his compositions are:

Hornbill was buried last Sunday in Kasipul. May God rest his soul in peace!
