"Moi and the looted billions"

It is such a shame that Dr Mutua, the Kibaki Government spokesman, has the guts to stand before Kenyans and attempt to defend Moi and his associates against the Kroll and Associates Report implicating them with looting about Sh130 billion taxpayer money.

What is more surprising is the muted reaction from Kenyans especially the locally based civil society activists. A respected reporter once said that Kenyans have lost the capacity to be "mad". For some strange reason the populace is either downtrodden into complacency or is extremely blinded by tribal and/or political alignments. Whatever the case, posterity will judge us very harshly. But then again, how many of the current political elite are not tainted?

Where there is a smoke there is a fire. Even if most of the report is "hearsay" as Mutua would want us to believe, it is undeniable that Moi and his cronies looted the Kenyan economy to it's knees and he needs to account for his role in this.
