Raila's Visit To Denver A Great Success Visiting Denver Colorado, Hon. Raila Odinga had a blast interacting with potential investors and supporters. This is the first time a presidential candidate from Kenya has been accorded the kind of treatment witnessed in this city. The standing ovation that met his speeches was just a reflection of the impression people got. The story carried by denver post and circulated all over Colorado sensitized people of the Kenya's potential in the midst of corrupt powers. Hon. Raila Odinga has a deep understanding of Kenya and appears to be ahead of many presidential candidates. I would like to challenge media houses to organize a political debate on particular issues where these presidential candidates will face each other. It would be interesting to hear President Kibaki tell Kenyans what he is doing about tribalism. On our part as Kenyan diaspora in Denver, we are impressed with Mr. Odinga and we are going to do everything possible to support him. Our friends in this city and beyond are already asking how they can help. We are aware that it is not going to be an easy task to get him to state house, especially when people are already retreating back to their tribal cocoons as witnessed by the unfortunate defection of the leader of opposition, Mr. Kenyatta, to the government. But as it has been said many times that the solution to the disease of tribalism haunting Kenya is the enactment of the new constitution and the devolution of power from the central to the periphery. Only Mr. Odinga and the pentagon team can carry out this process successfully. William Ndolo Denver, Colorado Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
