An opinion poll released a while ago shows that ODM presidential candidate Raila Odinga could beat president Kibaki were elections to be held now. Findings of the survey conducted by Steadman Group poll between September 21 and 25th,indicates that Raila is leading with 47 percent while Kibaki trails with 38 percent. ODM Kenya candidate Kalonzo Musyoka managed a paltry 8 percent. On political parties,Raila’s ODM is now the most popular party at 59 percent,dethroning ODM-K (15 percent),which has from time to time been regarded as the most popular. Kibaki’s new Party of National Unity (PNU) is second with 26 percent. The poll shows Raila as the most popular presidential candidate in all the provinces apart from Central –Kibaki’s stronghold- and Eastern –Kalonzo’s backyard
