Re: Is all lost in USA!

Attention is drawn to the recent article "Je!Huu ni ungwanaa?" forwarded by Ofisa Nyaikondo.Wish to thank Ofisa for sharing it with us and Jonathan Choti for his contribution. After reading the article itself and Jonathan's write up, I would not help but wonder "Is all lost in USA" Here is my take on this.

1.Regardless of its many challenges, this country remains to be a country with lots of opportunities. With patience and determination, one finally gets somewhere.
2.Everybody has been able to at least achieve part or all is plans. Those who wanted to go to school have done so. There are people out there with PHD,MA,BA and name it.
3.A lot of our people hold good jobs-Medical Doctors,Nurses, teachers, and all kinds of businesses.
4.There are people who have managed various projects back home-Nice houses, own Matatus, buses and many others.
5.All of us have contributed to the growth of the country by sending money towards school fees and other projects.
6.Our children have done well in going for their desired careers. That which we were unable to do, has been done by our children.
7.Some of us have contributed to our spouses education.
8.We all drive nice cars and live in good houses/apartments.

But how do people back home see us?

1.While it's true that some of us have given a bad impression, the truth of the matter is that people back home have their own view about this Nation that no one can change. We should not be the scape goat.
2.I don't see anything wrong in the kind of jobs we do as long as they serve as a spring board in realizing our goals. What difference is there between this jobs as compared to those at any other hospital back home? If anything, there is more money here. I tend to differ with those who just sit at home and wait for the job of their training. Whatsoever your hand findedth to do,go for it.

Do I have any concerns? Yes,and here they are:

1.I am concerned about those who are too busy that they can not get in touch with those they left behind.
2.I am concerned about those who have been destroyed by drinking alcohol. How I wish they can leave it alone.
3.I am concerned about those who for some reason have lost a sense of direction. For reasons best known to themselves, they have become their own enemies.
4.I am concerned about spouses who fight for power, money, and many other minute things.
5.I am concerned about those of us who are satisfied with the status quo.We should ask ourselves each day what we should do to improve ourselves.
6.There are times, that some of us tend to fight where there are no shambas and fences to fix. We are supposed to bond together and help one another in achieving set goals.
7.Perhaps my greatest concern is that some of us have forgoten the only one who has promised blessings, good health, prosperity, peace of mind, and all that we need-the poor man of Galilee, Jesus Christ, our Savior.

All things considered,we are doing fine regardless of what folks home think about us.Don't you think so?

Just a thought.
