Re:The poor man of Galilee! In the wake of yet another sad murder case involving a fellow Kenyan in as many days, brothers Geoffrey Osiemo,Protus, and others have written raising very important questions. Two of them caught my attention, namely, what part, if any, did the church play in assisting this family? Secondly, how about friends and fellow Kenyans? Did anyone know, and if so, did any one try to assist them? Has it has been observed, each one of us is daily bombarded with challenges from every corner-family issues, job related issues, status, and many others. From time to time, some of us humble ourselves and seek for help. But in many cases,we entertain an attitude of "know it all" and hence we find ourselves deep into waters. But,perhaps, my greatest concern is that a good number of us have rejected the all available help by the poor man of Galilee. True,we have tried all types of help but this one. When seeking help, there are several considerations that we usually take into account. Chief among them is whether the person or organization has a resume or a name recognition.Well, why not check that of the man of Galilee. 1.No case has ever been brought to him that he was not able to solve. 2.Millions of lives have been touched and changed for eternity as a result of touching but his garment. 3.The New Testament carries stories of men and women who found a ready answer to their many years of hopeless situations. *Mary Magdalene was forgiven 7 times.7 times she went back to her former evil ways and 7 times the good Lord brought healing to her life.Check John chapter 8. *The Samaritan woman was changed for ever-John chapter 4. *Zaccheaus was forgiven and accepted as a son of Abraham-Luke 19 4.He has claimed to be the truth, the way,the life and the answer to all our problems. Yes,I totally agree with all the writers that we need to find help from fellow human beings. But may I appeal to all of us that the way to go is to check out first the poor man of Galilee for after him,you may not need any one else.Don't you think so? Just a thought. Pastor Birai-612-386-4608 www.ThemaranathaSDAchurch.org Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
