Re: What Kind of Government would Raila form? From: Charles Nkuraya Bwana Aukot, Raila cooperation with KANU was a bad thing because there were other opposition parties Raila would have joined apart from KANU. Further more the fact that Raila did not mind winning in KANU even though KANU did not stand for democracy then leave a lot to be desired for somebody who always claim to be of change and democracy. So his joining KANU sent the wrong signal but did not bring the current democracy he had to defect again to join NARC and that what a true democrat would have done from the beginning. Bwana Aukot, during the 24 years of Moi regime we cannot hold people responsible for what happened nationally because Moi was the baba, mama na kila kitu. But we can hold people responsible for failed projects in their constituencies and this is where Raila failed most for 15 years. Being a millionaire and outside connections and being for the people as he claims he should have made a mark in Kibera. Kibera has all sort of problems and he could have picked one problem and mobilize the people the way he mobilized people for referendum inside and outside the country and tackle the problem. Instead he opposed the government when outside or inside the government and this made him look like an anarchist (wale wachache wasio tosheka). There are a lot of politicians who want to lead this nation but they have some patience and humbleness. Look how patient Moi was as a VP for 15 years, patient and humble although he reined terror once he got the top post. I would say Kibaki was patient and humble. Remember somebody else declared him tosha not himself apart from that he looked like a compromising gentleman. You can not demand leadership claiming either your way or highway be abrasive rub a lot of people the wrong way shed tears and throw tantrum drug the whole community with you claiming people hate your community while it is your leadership in question not your community and expect people to have confidence in you leadership. I have nothing personal against Raila but his actions in the past shows greed and impatience for power which leaves a lot to be desired. I agree, but i also beleif that things could be more expedited in realising a kenya that we all want...this would call for all tactics inlcuding the ones raila employed and those that Uhuru is currently emplying, as wellthose Kibaki is emplying...you can see the idea from all them is quest for power with different methodologies...i wouldn't blame each of them harshly the way you blame Raila have a good day Ekuru Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
