Re: Jakom and ODM nominations Fellow Kenyan, I must say that we are saying the same thing, only looking at it from different sides. I am a strong believer in Democratic Systems in governance, and I believe too that ODM is and will remain a democratic party to lead this Kenya to even higher grounds in terms of democratising the political system. The issue here is with the voter. When we struggle and improve the way we are governed, the way Hon. Raila has done over the years, the voter recognizes the efforts. That is why we as Kenyans are now prepared to vote in Hon. Raila to office, the resistance and the money from the looters of the last regimes not withstanding. Likewise, in our respective constituencies and wards, the voter should vote us in because they have seen our efforts in the struggle, because they endorse our input towards giving them Maisha Bora, and because we have displayed abilities to lead in their interest. This being the case in Embakasi, I have confidence that Lameck Siage will be voted in as the next MP. This should be the statement from any deserving candidate in all the 210 constituencies and the numerous wards accross the country. The reverse is also true. Those that have proven that they do not have the vision, the will, and the ability to improve the people's condition in their areas of jurisdiction should not expect Jakom to "campaign" for them. I agree that the Pentagon should concentrate on the presidential vote and let the candidates win or loose based on how the poeple they seek to represent percieve them. Let the Kenyan voter also be weary of the money-pouring Johnny came latelies. The voter should wonder why they did not come in to pour the money earlier, to develop the people and only show up when they want to be elected into office. I advice the voter to ignore these old-styled politicians who think that for a packed of salt, they can be voted into office for 5 years to serve themselves. By allowing the consistent and popular aspirants to fairly win the nominations, we improve the chances of a huge voter trun out at the general elections. As it has already been predicted, the voter turn out will be the determining factor in the final results of the general elections this year. It is therefore CAPITAL for us to do all in our power to make sure that the voter turn-out is a record high. Regards, Lameck Siage In-coming MP for Embakasi Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
