With reference to the news today in the Standard online, I would like to say that if the Kisiis get the province they are asking for, then the better for us (Luos). The same has also been my wish for some years. Afterall it was the British who drew the present boundaries bounding us with the Omogusii. None of the locals was consulted by the colonialists. God bless the Kisiis though. Though I trust that the leadership in Luo-Nyanza would make the appropriate decision, I may take the pleasure to suggest that the new Luo province be named Winam Province or Lake Sango Province. There is no letter "z" in Dholuo so who needs colonial names?
