A STEP TO A RIGHT DIRECTION Paul Nyandoto wrote: Jo thurwa, I am happy that the following people have accepted that they will attend the meeting : David Ndolo, Danis Ogot, Vitalis Oginga Ndeda, Pamela Ohonde, William Oduor, Barack Abonyo, Lorna Yongo and Paul Nyandoto. We still need people, I just do not understand where are the people who used to give comments on how we should do things to develope luoland and how blacks should try to be competitive just as Asians or Whites. Ladies and gentlemen there is still time, so please just say on this forum if you are for the meeting or not. I am still waiting for the swedish luo community to reply since we hope this joint will take place in STOCKHOLM. It was also in this forum where some of luos wanted to take things to the Hagues, I wonder how they will do this if even just a joint meeting is very difficult to get our people to accept. PLEASE SEE THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THIS MEETING: 1.) If Raila gets the presidency, I do think it will be very easy for us to make this meeting and in the meeting we will have a joint agreement with our MPs how to move forward. We need Luoland to catch up with the rest of Kenya and the world. (2) In case Raila does not get the presidency, this meeting will be our back up process, where every Diaspora`s brain will be needed to discuss the fate of our people and how we the Diaspora luos can join hands with our people in Luoland for our survival. Don´t you read the news papers how Kibaki is now telling his tribe to defend the presidency, what message is that from a nationally elected leader?. This should ring a bell. Another thing the meeting will also work as a lesson to all the Diapora who have been suggesting, good things and those who have been blaming poor developments we have in luoland. I still strongly believe that we can move forward with a very bright future if we sit down together to talk and TAKE ACTION. I do believe we blacks(luo) can do things just as any other successful race on earth here we just need to take action. I will leave you with a true story this time to convince you that there is no difference between a black man and a white man and we can do even better: Those who know Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable, might gues what I am about to say. Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable, do have a french name because he was born during slavery in a french colony in the carribbean. Whites do not want to tell his true story and some have written anything to defame his name. Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable was black and his mother a black slave of African Descendant by the name SUzanne. Here is the STORY or HISTORY: The first human settlement in the place now called CHICAGO was established in 1779 by JEAN BAPTISTE POINT DU SABLE, an African-American trader from caribbean. Du Sable and his Indian wife built a house on the north bank near the mouth of the Chicago river. People even called him crazy because nobody knew if is was safe to build homes near lake Michigan and near the river, even some whites predicted some sort of flood etc, that will sweep his house. But you know what?, that did not bother Du Sable because he knew what he was doing. Ladies and Gentlemen now Chicago is a home to millions of people just because one black man believed it is safe to live there. Du Sable took action, he never slept on his actions or dreams. If Du Sable could wake up today from the dead I am sure he will not recognise the present Chicago which he started from scratches. So those who think that blacks follow whites in their neighbourhood always are not 100% correct. The present blacks do that but during Du Sable`s time when black men were mature it was the whites who followed them in their settlement of Chicago. Do not lose self confindence, Do not lose self respect, because that is all you have, once you do not have it your are nobody. Paul Nyandoto, Finland. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
