Re: KWa NINI KIBAKI AONDOLEWE NA WAKENYA HARAKA? Orina, I loved your charged e-mail imploring on Kenyans to vote out president Kibaki on the grounds that you listed. These included equitable distribution of wealth, holding looters accountable, ending tribalism, etc. Your e-mail would have made more sense if only you provided us with an alternative to the status quo. I am sorry to say that the other side is has neither shown commitment to bring change beyond their rhetoric on the same. I see all of them as a class that is cut from the same cloth. Orina, I have in the past written to you and other activists to give Kenyans a third force. I have heard such requests from other Kenyans. I would have been a happy man had this e-mail been drafted to inform us on your commitment for a total purge. I mean a TOTAL PURGE! Kenya is endowed with many bright and very patriotic citizens but our leadership is not a reflection of this. Our so-called reformists include names like Ruto, Mudavadi, Henry kosgey, William ole Ntimama .... Where are the Orinas, the Mwalimu Matis, the Njonjo Mues, Ndukos etc? Those purporting to be agents of change were yesteryear villains who should be in jail. So when you talk about the same criminals holding others accountable, Orina, wake up and see the reality that we have a rulling class that knows neither tribe nor political party. Their biggest threat is not Raila odinga or Kibaki. Their biggest threat is the rise of real agents of change. These people will silence any reasonable voice and play the game in a way that the voter is made to chose from 2 pieces of the same cloth. You were there when Mageuzi tried to pump sense into kenyan politics and reforms. Moi and Raila teamed up to clobber you to silence. The differences between moi and Raila melted away as they joined hands for silence the revolution that was starting to take shape. http://www.nationaudio.com/News/DailyNation/19122000/News/News42.html http://www.nationaudio.com/News/DailyNation/15012000/index.html http://www.nationaudio.com/News/DailyNation/14012000/News/News128.html They used unprecedented force and once you were out the field was left to the regulars to play their game. Events in Nak are similar to the above but here tribal math and political clout was used to silence sustainable change. It was sickening to see villains ridding the Moi must go wave. Catch my rant on those events. http://www.nationaudio.com/News/DailyNation/14112002/Letters/Letters4.html So what happened to the promise of heaven once Narc took over? Politicians in the government started looting and protecting looters in exchange for past favors. Poor teachers who bought grabbed land had their houses demolished in the name of taking back government property while Moi's interests were fiercely defended at cabinet level. It was business as usual! http://www.eastandard.net/hm_news/news.php?articleid=1143964454 Ominto Orina, as civil society you need to make a stand. Are you in the business of worshiping politicians or are you out to tell it as it is no matter who is touched? You should tell the masses the truth and let them make a choice. Pushing Ruto et al down our throats is delaying sustainable reforms. Last but not least, let us show a clear distinction between change and reforms. unedited Mosaisi Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
