re: ODM = Landslide in December Felix Kibet <fkibet@...> wrote: From the economical point of view, I confer with Mr. Kiprono and Mr. Rop that we are better off during Kibaki's presidency. There is a strong wave of investement need in Kenya, the shilling has continued to appreciate, economic reforms were initiated, the economic growth (GDP) is 6.9% which is the highest in over a decade and is the highest in Sub-saharan Africa, inflation is low. Will ODM sustain this economic growth. If so how? The challenge for ODM is to clearly articulate how they can beat that. I am willing to listen and even change my mind if they can convince me that theirs will be more than what we see. My fear here is putting a government that will reverse the economic wheel. makiprop <makiprop@ . . . > wrote: Bwana Rop, Some people are always scared of change and thats why it does'nt come as a suprise to me that you imagine ODM reversing the economic gains. Yes, Kibaki administration has achieved a lot but you must not forget that the economic blue-print that has spurred that growth was drafted by, among others, Prof. Anyang-Nyong'o. On the other hand, Moi, Biwot and the others are now in the PANU house. What else do you expect from them? Besides, Uhuru is gearing up for 2012 and so we will be back to that animal called KANU again! However not all change is good. Like Moi supporting Kibaki. On the other hand, all i hear is ODM for change. No one is telling us change from what to what, from where to where and above all for what reasons. There must be a reason for people to initiate change-that is what i am still waiting to hear from the "ODM" camp. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
