Re: ODM = Landslide in December MOSES ROP: Much has been said about Kibaki and why we should recall him come December elections. This forum has had articles that were well documented that proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Kibaki and his government deserve no second chance. I wonder if you,Mr Rop, has been following discussions about Kenya right here. It has been proved again and again that Kibaki's assertion that Kenya is better than any other time in the past does not so much hold water given the following facts: 1. He fired Kalenjin from his government and replaced them with Kikuyus. 2. He forcefully removed Kalenjin ,who rightfully bought their farms, from their lands in Narok and torched houses of people who have lived in Kipkurere, letting police rape their wives. He never did the same to other tribes. 3.He let Kikuyus register companies that would later buy Kengen making them key share holders in the company. This strategy was a calculated one in view of denying other Kenyans any significant ownership of the said company. 4.He gave Kikuyus lots of money for business through a certain bank- these were soft loans that were meant to give Mt Kenyans a strong economic standing in Kenya over and above all other tribes. 5. He politically and strategically divided Nakuru district into four districts that made none Kikuyu tribes the minorities. 6.He failed to keep his 2002 election promises of writing a new constitution in hundred days, uprooting corruption and establishing just and accountable government of the people. He ended up putting in place corrupt and sectionalist government that favored Mt Kenyans. 7.He favors Mt Kenyans when it comes to scholarships. 8. He favors his own tribe when it comes to positions in government. 9. He is not in control but rules through proxies- Kitchen cabinet and Mt Kenya mafia who rubbished MOU. 10.He lies unashamedly- talks of economic grow and improvement of living standards yet the ordinary Kenyans are unable to buy the basic commodities produced locally such as sugar and bread. Why talk of growth that does not benefit anyone? The foregoing and many others make Kibaki's assertion that life is better now not to resonate with the majority. He's going to be rejected therefore so that no one else will ever repeat the same in future. Facts and figures have been presented here by various people to prove that the president deserves a recall. However this does not mean he did nothing to improve Kenya. Like his predecessor he did some good but not so good enough to deserve a second chance. There are no second chances in politics. J.K.
