re: Mandela Foundation Hits at ODM Kuria Mwangi , Lucy Kimani and Dr Shaban This is a figment of a twisted imagination. It does not make sense Mandela would have a problem for being idolized. In fact nobody will. We want everyone to be like Mandela including yourself, not just Raila. Jesus gave us an example on how people should live. This is the reason we must find comfort with those people leaving by his example or following his ways. We must also do the same for those who may choose to follow examples of other leaders of mankind like Mother Teresa, Prophet Mohamed, Gandhi etc. Why any of you would be offended with those who recognize and pursues to leave their life like these World Heroes is strange. More so when others recognize the resemblance like Ngilu does with Raila. It is ok to oppose Raila now. I know if you supported Kibaki in 2002, Raila was your hero then. What you must know is that he told Kenyans "Kibaki Tosha" because he expected Kibaki to give Kenyans what they wanted; a constitution which would ensure responsibility, transparency, accountability, fairness and democracy in matters of governance. Kibaki instead chose to go the opposite direction; against the people of Kenya. Kibaki actually fired Raila for sticking with Kenyans when the mutilated Bomas draft was rejected in the 2005 referendum. I must believe this is the very reason you are also opposed to Raila. You are the kind of people who wants Kenya to be for just the chosen few. The ones who are corrupt, favors their tribe, don't care about the security of all Kenyans or their growth, exploit others and are filthy rich etc. It is fortunate that this is what Raila does not stand for, he has fought against, has been detained and continues to remove in our system of governance; just like Mandela did to South Africa! It is not a bad thing to be like Mandela or Jesus Christ, but it is a bad thing to govern like Moi or Kibaki or Amin Dada. Thanks Banda Nyaware Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
