Who is funding ODM

Many people now acknowledge that ODM has some external source of funds but

few know what this source is.The Campaign Budget for ODM is estimated to be in excess of Ksh1.9 Billion.What is available as of 10 October 2007 is 1.2 Billion Shillings.

The US government. The US government has developed a "keen" interest in this year's general election. The Republican has decided to propagate the US government interests in Kenya through the ODM. Through the recent visit to the US, ODM flag bear Mr. Raila Odinga managed to seal several deals with the US government.

Details emerging from sources close to Pentagon indicate that the key deals sealed between US and Raila were:-

1. The Oil Exploration deal in 13 Blocks south of Lake Turkana by Chevron -an American company.

2. Establishment of a US Marine Millitary base in Northern Kenya

3. Millitary equipment Government tender to British companies.

In the 1st deal, the government of Kenya has since 2004 been aware of the high potential oil field south of lake Turkana . this has been treated as a government secret to allow the government raise enough money to go it alone without foreign companies. Raila having sat in the cabinet was fully aware of this and used this as fast bait of getting US support. ( He sold government secret for own gain. This kind of arrangement is what has left Nigeria in the poor condition despite having many oilfields)

In the 2nd deal, the Bush administration has been frustrated by the current government in their bid to establish a marine's base in the region. The Kibaki government argued that by so doing they would be allowing external interference of the region by the US, they also argued that by so doing, Kenya would been seen as a US allay thus opening Kenya to attacks by terrorist groups.

The government further feared a backlash from the local Muslim community. (Raila has again for his own desire to ascend to power accepted to expose Kenya to future terrorists' attacks )

In the 3rd Major deal, Kenya will see a return of the expensive fuel guzzling land rovers into the police force and the army. It is widely known that the British lost billions of shillings as a result of Kibaki administration cancelling the military tenders the UK enjoyed since independence. ( This will mean more expenditure in military equipment purchasing and maintenance if this is effected)

RUTO FRIEND This is the most astonishing source of campaign money for the ODM. An extremely Rich Rwandan wanted by the UN for the 1992 Genocide has been around.Its has long been said that he has been spotted severally in Eldoret town. He is said to have offered ODM in excess of Ksh 300 million. Nominations: This is the other major source of funds for the ODM that has shocked even analysts. It was like an IPO! And it is now oversubscribed only that -NO refunds.
