Raila-Muslim MOU - a closer look by a lawyer

I have carefully examined the document. At first, I was shocked that Raila could sign a document that has explicit  intentions to violate the fundamental human rights of other Kenyans. I examined the signatures at the bottom and despaired. I almost screamed "Uuuuwi!"

But the shock was too unsettling and I had to do something. So I have subjected it to my own scrutiny, applying reason and common sense and read it carefully..

 

I have concluded that it is a fake document. In fact, it is not a forgery: it is a hoax. A hoax is deception with a mischiveous or cheeky motive. Note that the document does not define what "Muslim declared regions" means. This leaves the document loose and the claims of entitlement unlear - this alone would make it unfit as a legally binding document. It is like signing a document promising to give Kamau all the red phones in the middle region.

 

Under agreement (v), look at (c) describing the Commisioner of police as used by heathens and Zionists. This hateful and religiously- charged language is ill-befitting of an MOU. It is both unnecessary and emotional and the language has been used purposefully to offend and scandalize readers.

Under (h), Raila is being asked to "Popularize Islam" by forcing all primary schools to conduct Madrasa classes. Again, this is a joke considering its excessive nature and the fact that Raila is not a Muslim. It is also cheeky because it is unnecessarily offensive and is likely to generate rebellion amongst Kenyans.

(j) Takes the cake. Ati outlaw all gospel programs on KBC? This is what made me sure that this is a pure joke generated by some faceless PNU propagandist to offend Christians and incite them against Raila. But there is more. The joker still has more caricatures to present to us.

Look at (k). "Impose total ban on the public consumption of alcoholic beverages... " That is simply impossible. And I am sure Muslims do not want that. They have never demanded it publicly and it does not make sense that they would demand it in a private pact with Raila. This is pure, unadulterated Grade A Prime crap.

 

Look at (m). Ati close down Farmer's Choice factories and all other factories packaging haram products. The emotionally charged language, the excessive nature of the demand, its irrational nature that contradicts free-enterprise and its irrational nature makes me conclude this is a hoax.

Raila is a businessman who is directly benefitting from a Capitalist set-up. It would be inimical and irrational to place stupid, unrealistic, unenecessary and unreasonable religious demands before the constitution rights of Kenyans and free-market economy.

I therefore submit to you with confidence that this alleged MOU is a hoax. It is a hoax because it caricatures what Muslims would demand and makes nonsense of Muslim ideals and concerns. It also presents Raila as an idiot and a power-hungry despot who can sell his own soul to the devil just to ascend to the presidency.

 

What the PNU propagandist who generated this manure has unwittingly done is expose how much they disrespect Muslims and how irrational and extremist they think Muslims are. This does not win Kibaki any votes.

It also teaches to be vigilant because the era of serious propaganda is upon us and we need the spirit of skepticism and critical thinking to guide us as we navigate the treacherous propaganda storm.
