TUJU NOW OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO RARIEDA STUDENTS BY: JEFF OTIENO Foreign affairs Minister who is also Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju has given scholarships to over 20 orphans students in Rarieda Constituency (Rarieda District). The beneficiaries who were paraded in Aram Market during Tuju’s colorful Pre-Launch before they departed to their various overseas institutions gave their testimonies amid thunderous applause from the mammoth crowd. One of the beneficiaries Gilbert Otieno who is heading to one of the Universities in Morocco narrated how the Minister retrieved him from fishing after dropping out in Form I (one) following the death of all his parents and paid his entire fee upto Form IV amid tears from the Minister. On his part, the immediate former Rarieda legislature alleyed fears that his recent efforts to elevate Rarieda to District status was just hallow political gimmicks. He thundered that the move will go along way in bringing development closure to the people and adviced his political rivals to equally show the electorates what they have brought on the table. The Minister who had over 30 vehicles on toe which snaked slowly from his rural Rarieda home to Aram Market will go in the annals of history for having agitated for the creation of Rarieda constituency to District status without following the vigorous formalities that goes with such. East African legislative assembly member who accompanied Tuju urged the Rarieda People to choose between development oriented leader and sycophancy in the forth coming December 27th 2007 General Elections. Tuju who will be contesting on President Mwai Kibaki led PNU party is slated to battle it out with one of the trio, Nairobi based lawyer Otiende Amollo, businessman Eng. Nicholas Gumbo and Owiti Malo Malo. The trio are awaiting their ODM party Primaries slated for November 16th 2007 in what many pundits have described as a contest of titans. Whoever will be nominated to take on the Minister will have to strategies and work round the clock to unseat him, thanks to his sterling development track record like the on going 10 million project for construction of houses for widows, refurbishment of roads, installation of water and electricity among other initiatives.
