Propaganda against the Luos.

  It has taken me a while to find the truth as to why the Luo man/woman seems to be resented by a number of communities in our Nation. I have had the time to research into these matters. To my surprise I have come to find out that, a big part of it has been because of the a few factors.
  1. has been Community Leaders who are bankrupt on Ideas, and who have capitalized on the ignorance of the masses, to plant discord in these communities so that their position as community leaders is not threatened. This is so because the luos tent to enlighten those around them on matters affecting them. They are also very vocal. there are evidence supporting this. In 1969 one prominent Luo leader was brutally murdered by a person who turned out to have been sent by top echelon of the government. It caused an uproar in the whole country. When the Leader of the Government relished that he was going to lose power because of this heinous act, he reverted to rallying a whole community and subsequently, many other communities against the Luos. Communities in Central Kenya and many other parts of the country were hoodwinked into "OATHS" where the culture practiced by the Luos was used as the commandments for the OATHING. The oathees had to denounce almost entirely culture known
 to the OATHERS, that the Luos practiced.
 
  Thus it became a taboo and against the oath, associate with removing the six lower teeth, and not circumcise. It became a taboo to be vocal, to urge for more freedom, be truthful, not to steal, to inherit your brothers wife when he dies. In short it became a taboo to be seen to associate with a LUO. Some of the Government administrators in charge of provinces were threatened to denounce the Luos, which they did and still do to this very date. Yet these millions of people have never known why they denounced the Luos then and even now. To them all they remember is the oath. But non of them will ever give you even a single valid point for being against the Luo.
 
  I am not advocating that the Luos are generally perfect or good, but what I am trying to get through is that a Luo has never been given an opportunity to Lead so that he can be judged by his leadership. Right now all arsenals are aimed at Raila Odinga, his name being maligned from all angles. Some are arguing that he is a Luo, as though being a Luo is a crime. Some further argue that what development has he brought to the Kenyans. Now if Raila is to be judged by these points then let us question these other people's validy for leadership. If they have ruled Kenya on separate occasions for 20 years and so far Kenya has failed , then the question is what else is there for them to offer Kenya??
 
  The Luo has been Vilified for years for holding dear on his culture. Yet some of these Luo cultures date back to biblical times. Therefore, what would be wrong for practicing them. Sample this there have been serious pointers as to wife inheritance by Luos. But is this not Biblical? Though Culture needs to be dynamic but the bible said that nothing should be added nor taken away from the book. Please read below and find what God did to Onan who refused to inherit his dead brother's wife:
 
 
  Fact: The Lord told Onan to have sex with his brother's wife, after he was killed in battle, marry her said the Lord go in unto her, but Onan spilled his semen on the ground, he angered the Lord so he killed him.
 
  Evidence: Genesis 38: 7-10 and Judah said unto Onan, go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto (sex with) his brother’s wife, that he spilled it (sperm) on the ground, lest that he should give seed (child) to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew (kill) him also.
 
  Fact: The Lord said if a brother dies then the other brother should have sex with his brother’s wife and marry her.
 
  Evidence: Deuteronomy 25:5 If brethren (brothers) dwell together and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without (out of the homestead) unto a stranger. Her husband’s  brother shall go in unto her, and take her to be his wife, and perform the duty of a husband for the dead brother.
 
   
  If  you still have doubt, then please refer to the Holy Book. Read for yourself and see. The book says nothing shall be added or subtracted. So then why do we insist that the Luos must subtract from the Book, while others adherently keep the Covenant between Abraham and the lord without changing it? Is this not hypocritical?
 
  All said and done since life is changing at a rapid rate, CULTURE therefore must also be dynamic to keep up with time. For this then JODOLO, must also be widely learned and or educated in matters of community culture. They must therefore come out to tell the general community as to what is tenable and what is not as far as Culture goes. When the people are enlightened,then such fear mongering of of extremes resulting in death, will be a thing of the past. We are moving into a new era of politics and enlightenment. This is what will propel the people to move ahead. Failure to embrace these changes will only contribute to voiding the achievements that we have gained during these struggles for liberations
 
  If the Holy book says that your brothers wife must never marry outside in case he dies, then why cant we find ways of carrying on this culture but at the same time avoid the many calamities beholding our people.
 
  As for other communities, all I would urge is that, that oath was the mind of a dictator to torture you or murder your own to force you into submission, to hate another community for mistakes which were done by one person. Question is, for how long are you going to remain enslaved in the mind? If you don't rebel and free your mind then they will still continue to Chop your heads off into more submissions. At that rate, how and when will you truly ever be free??
  I urge you to come out and join ODM and Pentagon in ushering a new beginning to our country. Go to the Polls and secretly vote Orange. You can tell them that you have voted PANU. It is only you who will know the truth.
