I agree with N'Otiya.  We will be going to the polls to vote in people we did not elect at the grassroots.  The ODM Big brass say that they do not interfere in the elections and yet they are ignoring the communities' wishes and handing out direct nominations to their own cronies, people whom the electorate do not want.  Why is Odoyo being given a direct nomination while Ochieng Daima trounced him at the ballot box? Why has John Olago been given nomination certificates while he violently disrupted voting in 7 polling stations in Kisumu at which he knew he would lose to Nyagudi and then counted the votes from 5 polling stations personally and declared himself winner, while another aspirant, Ms Buyu is given nomination certificate of NARC, so they will be competing for the ODM ticket?   Who elected Olago? Why was he not disqualified for violence?  What about Nyagudi who is the people's favorite, why was he not then given direct nomination?  In many places, there were no elections,  How are the civic nominees to be chosen out of the large numbers that threw in their candidature? Why were their names not on the Ballot papers?

The excuse that the Board was overwhelmed by the heavy returns is nonsense.  210 constituencies cannot become 1000.  The nomination exercise was a sham.  It looks like the Board already had a card to play up their sleeves.  Everyone had agreed that the 16th of November was nomination day.  Why send the papers late and by the most unreliable courier and not get people properly advised on proceedings?

I am not sure that ODM will make it with this kind of nonsense.  Is this the Government we want to vote in?  If this kind of misrule starts now, what should we expect?
