Linet Adhiambo - (LINET) - responds to William Munene
2007 General Elections: Please Vote Wisely
On behalf of Kenyans in Diaspora, I would like to make some few comments on media coverage and public portray. I am not trying to attack the newspapers but it's very evident that the current political coverage have been biased to an extent that the majority public seems to have thought that Raila Amolo Odinga is the candidate of choice - that's wrong and absolutely inaccurate.
***(LINET) This is not just a matter of Media coverage bcoz if you knew
Media onwership in Kenya then you would know that Raila Amolo Odinga
starts at a disadavantage the fact that they potray him as ahead is bcoz
this is what the people on the ground are saying. Luckily you have
mentioned you are writing from the Diaspora.
In the U.S, we know for sure that there are tonnes of fabricated data and materials that have been and being used trying to oust H.E. Hon. Mwai Kibaki. We, collectively, would like to let you know that we are opposed to Raila Amolo Odinga ways of politics, we bash the idea of dividing the country along the geographical and ethnic boarders - we support a unitary government that gives freedom with no coercion to a community called Kenyans where everyone can freely locate and/or relocate to any part of the country without being seen as a trespasser or a stranger.
***(LINET). Last week the famous pollsters gave an opinion poll
on coverage of the candidates and surprise surprise my brother,
Kibs has alarge percentage of his coverage very positive. Agwambo on the
other hand get a lot of coverage but negative. There is no fabrication about
Kibs all that you have heard is the truth and how it is. Below is a summary:
-He promised 500,000 jobs per year- we did not see this.
-He promised to end corruption- He got a new one for his admin-
Anglo Leasing and Now Ken Ren is back! He has MO1 campaigning for
him now what more evidence does one need in regards to corruption?
-He promised to fight tribalism, he made it worse. Out of 800 Scholarships GEMA
gets 788 and the rest of Kenya 18?I have no problem with our brothers from
Central using these facilities its is their right, but pliz distribute
that's what we are saying!
-Roads- Now he is struggling with those in the City to
hood wink us after sleeping on the job for 5 years. You are in the
Diaspora good for you! Do you know it takes a Nairobian an average of 2
hours to reach their place of work? With rains we pay up to 10
times normal fare, which no one has budgeted for.
-Prices of essential commodities rise every other day, explanation by
Kibs admin, farmers are paid??If my dad is a Sugar cane farmer
and you increase Bread, Milk, Meat,Wheat flour- how does the increase
in Sugar Cane prices benefit him- not to mention he cannot use the Sugar
Cane for his tea so he pays a high price for the sugar as well! How have
you helped the poor chap? To add insult to injury the increased earnings
are imagined bcoz fertilizer prices are up so the little Money farmers have
they spend here, then they have to pay guess what? At tax to
Kibs on delivering the Cane to the factory, Sasa niambe hiyo pesa ya
wakulima iko wap i??
-How has a unitary gava helped Kenya?Kibs is still
distributing districts, hospitals so people can vote for him. He
actually has done worse than MO1 bcoz he's been there for only
5 years and using same tactics.
-If you were in Kenya you would see on your TV screen every night
children displaced, Men and women killed by Militia/ fellow Kenyans, Gava
has done what to correct this. Why should Kenyans in Mt. Elgon die, and
Children their Miss school- wewe uko diaspora si ndiyo?
We must also acknowledge the President’s score card - the 4 years have seen Kenya take a huge step forward in economic development. We give support and also contribute towards the economic development while far away from home but we must ask ourselves some questions; if the current government had not made it possible and also created opportunities, could we invest or have been investing comfortably? For those with tendencies of blaming and criticizing a development oriented leader, could you please provide us with a detailed support showing the achievements with milestones that Raila Odinga have made. What good has he done for Langata? Langata residents needs and should make a change in leadership. Would anyone name a project that Raila Amolo Odinga initiated and supported from start to finish - please explain, soup to nuts. He is not the kind of person who follows through - how many times has he changed and hopped from one political party to another? Does it mean that whoever led and belonged to those parties he deserted was not good enough or was wrong and needed change too?? (Off the record - I am surprised he never filed for the big D ). Raila is busy dancing all over the place about the constitution - "Kibaki government failed to come up with a new constitution within 100 days". May I ask an honest question - If we get a new constitution right now at this moment, would you think Kenyans would automatically qualify and get a free glass of milk and cookies?? I support change since we live in dynamic societies but a change in constitution doesn't do much to common Mwanachi - nothing and nobody will give you anything for free. A remarkable change is the one that comes with prospects and opportunities - not just a change for record or in a napkin (piece of paper) - just for the sake.
****(LINET)- We sent a very easy exam for the Narc admin bcoz we knew
they had inherited a bad gava, and our pass mark was very low. We only
needed Kibs to get 40% and be qualified to have passed the exam. You
know what? The gus barely managed 20% and with alot of struggle.
We judge Kibaki bcoz we gave him a mandate to be the CEO of this xtry
in 2002 with specific tasks we needed him to work on. When he got in power-
he fired his cabinet, his close allies told us we did
not need a new constitution bcoz Moi was gone. He us that he has done
alot of work we have free Primary educ- pls show me the child of one
of our Ministers attending the Free Pri Educ schools .Too many kids the teachers
will tell you to take yr child to the so called academies if you can afford.
We are taking our Children to school to learn how to read and write
their names? We need quality free Pri. educ.
Yes he messed with the constitutional review, he gave us some mutilated
doc called the Wako draft and we were told by the then Justice and Const.
Minister that hiyo katiba ita pitishwa tupende tusipende! We rejected
it .
Show me one politician who has not moved from at least 2 Parties
in the current parliament, Even Kibs has recently joined an animal
called Panua after leaving DP then Narc. This is a non issue we need
legislation on the parties.
Raila Amolo is not on our Score Card this year bcoz we have never tested
him with the leadership of this country. Forget the propaganda of
PNU on Langata, from what we hear Othaya is Worse! In 2012 if we give him
a mandate this year the passmark is raised and we'll judge his performane.
My brother Kenyans have woken up, we
demand accountability from our leaders that is why Kibs is in big shit.
Last month, Raila was campaigning where he promised public that he would lower taxes and give free secondary education and healthcare. Would he be sacrificing his own salary/income or how will he achieve that? ....... Oooh he knows loopholes that he would seal once elected ..... He will do miracles. Walk it like you talk it!! Kenya is trying to get away from foreign finance dependency. Why would anyone think that U.K and the U.S are bitter with the current administration? To quote a few - we are now doing more business with China than we did before - the balance of trade is more favorable, we cut the heavy use of Land rover in government entities replaced with more efficient and cheaper Japanese manufactured vehicles. There should be presidential debates to expose the likes of Raila who have no substance in their dialogs - He diarrheas a lot in his tackling of national issues and comments. In a few months, his marriage to the Arab/Muslim community will turn sour - he made promises, MOU, that have come back to bite him in the back. Did he just deny that there was nothing like MOU with Muslim community?
***(LINET)- These have all been clarified- the problem is that many people
do not u/stand Swahili. An agremment / understanding is
what is being talked about and not a paper!
- We are waiting of the Education and health- lets see I agree all the
three parties are not clear on what happens in high school come Jan 2008.
On taxation as a tax payer in Kenya our taxes are high, the Gava considers
someone earning 38k to be in the Rich income bracket taxing them over
20%.Why not broaden the tax base and reduce the rate, it can be done?
When you are this unstable, you lack the stand and you lose integrity. Is this the kind of leadership we are looking for? There is an old saying that says, “Charity begins at home”. I would like to rephrase it and say, “Development begins at home” … If this man has done nothing in his home ground - do we expect him to transform a nation leave alone a constituency??
**LINET- The unstable one is Kibs, he Cannot Keep any promise, has no
regard for gentleman's agreement(IPPG, MOU)- what does this say about
a person's integrity? We can no longer trust him!
My Dear & Fellow Kenyans: We need to embrace the freedom, togetherness and relationship we have enjoyed for a long time living side by side like brothers and sisters. Kenyans are wonderful people and we are God fearing community. Kenya as state is safer with Kibaki than it would be with Raila - don’t forget Raila Odinga’s idol, Fidel Castro - one of the most recent memory living dictator in the world. Usiache mbachao kwa msala upitao (Don't abandon your old rug for a passing mat). If it’s not broke don’t fix it ….. we can mend and patch the few areas that needs and require replacements, but we are not at a point of overhauling yet. For those advocating Majimbo, I wonder if you are already aware that lives have been lost at this stage of campaign. Can you imagine what a mess we would be in if this dictator came into power? Better safe than sorry!! We need to focus on national issues, have meetings and discussions with brains. Let us continue with the current development trend - we are focused and envisioned for a developed country where poverty and disease will be a thing of the past!
***LINET- Ugatuzi has NEVER caused deaths, people are dying now in Kuresoi,
Elgon, Sondu, where does Majimbo feature here?
-What is wrong with making sure our brothers in N.EP can have agood access
road and be able to make something out of the little resources they have?
-What is wrong with ensuring fisherment have agood network to reach Markets
on time?
-My friend from Meru now has her road tarmacked to door step(
good for her she pays taxes) but why do I have to spend 14 hours
to visit my dad and i pay taxes too?Why should i use a cattle path
instead of a good road?
-Why can't the people of Aoro Chuotho decide their own priorities instead
of someone in Nairobi doing this for them- Is there something wrong with
this?
-Why do the people of Tharaka have no boreholes, roads, hosptals
while those in Meru Central have all facilities for instance.
-We need to decentralize and devolve power to move forward. Let's
try it and see where it takes us bcoz we know hwere the unitary system
has taken us thus far.
AU SIYO?
My appeal to you is plainly simple and thoughtful! Let us use the Hummer to drill the nails in Raila’s political coffin! KULA KWA RAILA ODINGA ……. Lakini KURA KWA MWAI KIBAKI!!! KIBAKI ABAKI!! KIBAKI TENA!! KAZI IENDELEE!!
***LINET- Sorry Dude Tunakula kwa Kibaki and Kura ni kwa Agwambo,
na Hiyo kazi ya Porojo na maproject haitaendelea Kenya hii!!
=====================================================God Bless Kenya! (LINET)- I agree totally with you here. Munene Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
