ODM deserves much chastisement for the fiasco witnessed in their nominations. As far as I am concerned, ODM  is a balloon full of hot air. Hot air burns as the balloon deflates. Unfortunately, the hopes and aspirations of Kenyans like you and me are the unwitting victims. If I were to mete out punishment, I would predictably lay most of it at the hands of ODM and its so-called luminaries or Pentagon.

ODM made promises of radical change, change from the old ways to the new and better modern democratic ways. With those big promises, much was rightly expected of them. The unfortunate thing that many like yourself refuse to accept is that immediately those promises were made, ODM started providing the evidence to show that they were really empty promises.  Firstly, two weeks after being bought from Imanyara, ODM coronated Raila Odinga as their presidential candidate in the  first sham nomination exercise. Maybe I missed it, but, to this day, nobody has indicated how those so-called delegates that trooped to Kasarani Stadium were elected at the constituencies within two weeks of taking over ODM after defecting from ODM-Kenya.

The downward spiral was not over yet. ODM then declared that they had sacred cows. Any hitherto presidential wannabee among them was named into their Pentagon and given direct nomination with no contest, making mockery of the "D" for "Democratic" in the ODM name. Within no time, the list of sacred cows had multiplied and ballooned 1000% from five to 50. What would stop others from claiming the same treatment?

In a nutshell, the nominations fiasco in ODM was inevitably set to happen. If you did not see it coming, then it is the more reason why you should get your head from under the sand.  ODM has proved that it is not the harbinger for change that it bills itself to be. Instead, it is as much status quo as status quo can be.
 
On the specifics in your piece, I too personally admire Dr. Monda. Nevertheless, he was one of the 50 beneficiaries of the ODM direct nominations with no contests. Didn't you read it in the papers last week? If Dr. Monda sat on his haunches and basked in the glory of the direct nomination while Bichage sought the nomination by the Nyaribari Chache voters, then even if he got only one vote he should be recognized as the legitimate ODM flag bearer.

Lastly, I do not see what else you need to be told. Who is going to tell it to you anyway? We have seen it with out own eyes. I frankly do not see how you can continue to exhort continued fighting when the army  and its generals are all tainted and afflicted with  the very same malaise that  it  is pretending to fight.
