RE: KENYA DIASPORA NATIONAL DEBATE November 16, 2007 The Kenyan Community Abroad (KCA), in partnership with the Washington, D.C. Kenya Diaspora community leaders, today holds the inagural Kenya Diaspora National Debate. The debate will be held at the Eisenhower Room at the Capital Hills Club located on 300 First Street, S.E., Washington, D.C., 20003, on Friday, November 16th between 6 and 10pm. It will be open to all. This debate will feature panelist pooled from the Kenyan Diaspora who will be articulating the various platforms, visions and manifestos held by political parties with presidential candidates in the 2007 national elections. We trust that this function will show the dedication that Kenyans abroad have for the political welbeing of their country. Indeed, the Diaspora is now a constituency that is ready to be woven into the polity of Kenya through the enabling of their rights to vote. The session with the panelist will last 90 minutes, thereafter giving wananchi room for a moderated question and answer session. The occasion will be graced by Ambassador Z.D. Muburi-Muita, Kenya representative to the UN, and moderated by journalist, Kevin J. Kelly. The Kenya Diaspora National Debate will also be a precursor to a Presidential Debate planned for Nairobi with the actual candidates at a later date.
