Jakom and ODM Nominations - A wrong discussion that should STOP! To Hon. Raila's supporters, Please allow me to comment on the discussion about Mbita parliamentary nomination and Kenyan democracy that is currently in jaluo.com titled "Jakom and ODM nominations' . I must however make it clear that I am for and fully support democratic nominations not only in Mbita constituency but all over Kenya. "Let the people decide" as many of you have eloquently said. Now my comment: The statement by "Jo Mbita" and the ensuing discussions in my opinion is a wrong statement at the wrong time, and if I may add at the wrong place by those who call themselves Raila supporters. Even if your comments are in favor of Jakom, it still send a negative connotation given the topic of discussion. This constitute a free negative advertisement for our opponents against our candidate, started by us and propagated by us in the name of "fairness and democracy". I would therefore venture to ask Jakom's supporters to avoid such discussions in this forum. Further, Jakom has made it clear and in public that he will not meddle in local elections. He specifically requested that candidates should not use his name for the same. The fact that this article was not signed by the purported group or individual from Mbita leaves a lot to be desired. This article may as well been authored by Jakom's opponents. If that is true, our opponents must be having a ball watching us spinning the Mbita issue using Jakom's name in a negative way. If you are a supporter of Jakom and choose to continue with this discussion, please avoid the Internet. I hope that most if not all the things we share in our public Internets bring us closer to the touch-line not a few steps back. I am personally treating this as a PANU propaganda bent on portraying Jakom in bad light. Jo thurwa wuoth pod bor wawe uru weche mag anjawo. Ka Jo Mbita ni kod wach to gidhi giwach Mbita giyayie e internet! Sam Oyugi USA Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
