POLITICAL DEFECTIONS AND DECEPTIONS RE-DEFINED

In the on coming December 2007 general elections, the true meaning of political defection and political deceptions will be clearly re-defined. Why? After the just concluded party nominations, there has been a category of:
 
a.)    Attempted political suicides
b.)    Political suicides
c.)    Political deceptions and oblivion
 
A.)  Attempted political suicide cases:
            In this category, we have politicians who having been defeated by the and denied ticket by the countries regions most influential party, decided to have / get solace from an affiliate party (as they put it!!). Most of these are the like of Ochillo Ayako from ODM to NARC, Waititu from PNU to DP, J. Kamotho from PNU to Safina, Mwanga in Ugenya from ODM to Kaddu as well as scores of aspiring MP from Gusii land. These aspirants are already going round with the common adage “Give me the MP seat and as for the presidency, do what you like!!!!” There dare not ask the constituents not to vote for the regions most favorable politician as they know the consequences and more severe than the just concluded nominations. If it is true they were rigged out then they are likely to pump in a lot of resources to try and recapture the seats, glory and cleanse their names. In this general elections so far, only 5% stand a chance of turning the table and winning the elections. William Kabogo has done it before. He is among the most experienced. These lots of aspirants are also classified as true political defectors. All those who lost in PNU and went to Safina, DP, and Narc fall in this class as long as they truly support the PNU presidential candidate. All those who lost in ODM and went to Kaddu, Narc also belong here as long as they are crystal clear that the grassroot want non other than Raila.
 
B.)   Political Suicide cases.
      In this category, we have politician who have ignored Steadman and all other functional reliable and valid opinion polls results. They have for over 6 months known which is the most popular party hence presidential candidates. However, in the just concluded nominations exercise they either lost or were rigged out, who knows. But their political suicide is seen in the fact that the have undergone political deception that for example in Chepalungu, Koech could move from Kanu to ODM to ODM – K and expect a miracle of votes!!! To his favour and to swing to one Kalonzo Musyoka as well. Never mind the signals that this area had 42 aspirants for the ODM tickets. Mr. Koech you need more than miracles to turn things round because you have actually gone to “an enemy party with a competitive presidential candidate” I hope you realize this task!!! If you did not study some economics in high schools or college, rush to the nearest library and grab a column on the “law of diminishing returns ”. This will help you to see that however much resources and goodies and miracles you promise Chepalungu the returns will be limited!!! One media outlet also claimed that the same Ochillo Ayako quoted above, had initially moved to DP in Luo Nyanza Province…..spectacular, isn’t it? Score have also committed the political suicide in North Eastern, Coast, and North Rift. The days of politician defecting to parties on their own are over. Let the majority constituents defect with you instead ladies and gentlemen!!!!
 
C.)  Political Deceptions and Oblivion cases
 
This category is the most interesting one to watch on TV. Despite the fact that people were injured and near fatalities reported, we were supposed to be a very sad nation. But this lot provided the humour. One David Mwenje, having been caught on camera with imported voters and fake voters cards, believed that defecting to one party I’m yet to master its name will give him the seat come December 27th. This is political oblivion. It is neither attempted nor the actual political suicide. One Norman Nyaga, having lost in PNU (with all recent media and campaign signals) went to “TIP TIP amani Kenya” he hopes to sell that to people of Kamukunji in Nairobi province. He was deceived by his chief “Whip Dom ”… We all wish him Tipsy election result….One Raphael Tuju’s case is still under review but he should have learnt from James Orengo that in Nyanza, the people lead the defection while the leader follows….. only then you become a rural development leader in that region. Tuju will on 28th December go into political oblivion. I mean if they (Nyanza) have already voted out 17 out of 21 former MP who were in the “right” party ODM, what miracle does he expects to happen to him???? Tuju was deceived by his rural development to people who play national politics. One Cyrus Jirongo thought that by moving out of ODM, his party members would follow suit. He has the answer now of who lead the defections in 2007 elections. He was deceived with his money.
 
 
Now they all know what to do next time, don’t they??????
