 The issue of MOU been circulated is a piece of concocted lies!

Clause  (vii) proves to be what lenders this MOU a worthless piece of paper.

It claims the Muslim leaders will endorse Raila in 7 days. The purported MOU
was signed on 29/08/07. Logically the endorsement was supposed come around 05th Sept 2007.

Lang'ata MP Raila Odinga's chances of being nominated ODM presidential flag bearer was boosted when Muslim leaders endorsed him.

A delegates' convention for Muslims umbrella body - National Muslim Leaders Forum - also told Mwingi North MP Kalonzo Musyoka to respect other political leaders.

"We demand respect among our leaders and detest insults like the ones Musyoka has been throwing at (Mvita MP Najib) Balala," they said.

Consulting widely

In move likely to see Mvita MP withdraw from the ODM presidential race, the Sheikhs said they have been consulting widely and had asked Mr Balala to exercise the mandate of leading all Muslims in voting for Mr Odinga.

"Mr Odinga's government would guarantee our 2.3 million voters a relief from dictatorship and bad governance," they said.

The Sheikhs, drawn from 25 Muslim organisations in Kenya, were led by umbrella body's chairman Adullahi Abdi.

In a statement issued after the meeting at the Nairobi Academy Mosque in South B, the leaders said Islam does not encourage the kind of negative tribalism bedevilling Kenya.
