Re: How would you like to be remembered? Absalom Birai wrote: I just returned from a weekend seminar of all Minnesota conference pastors plus 10-12 of their members. The purpose of the meeting was to equip and challenge all present to reach everyone in the Twin Cities with the Adventist message. It was a spirit filled meeting with all present ready to learn and willing to be used of God to prepare all Minnesotans with the good news. The speakers were men and women of great talent and with amazing sense of humor and simplicity. Among the speakers was this couple from Illinois. Both husband and wife are Dentists having their own clinic with 70 employees including 8 Doctors. With their very busy schedule, they have over the years found time to do ministry. I was touched and humbled with their deep dependence on God. Here is a family who have it all and yet they have purposed in their hearts to give it all to God and His course on earth. The sense of humility in all the speakers spoke loud and clear to my heart. The Minnesota conference president and his entire team, the Maplewood academy, and North America Division personnel did a wonderful job and indeed lowered themselves to our level. I left a totally changed person, determined, and ready to be used by the good Lord to grow Maranatha to 1000 members. During the presentation, one speaker asked each one to write his or her own obituary."How would you like to be remembered? he asked. I knew the answer,at least as far as I am concerned. Whoever will write and read my obituary, all I need is to be remembered as "the humblest servant of God who loved the ministry and all God's children." Now than ever before,I am willing to share this good news with my neighbors, co-workers, and all that I come across in my daily schedules. I urge you to join me in praying for the growth of Maranatha. Better still,if you have no church family, then come and join hands with us as together we move forward in faith to "lighten the North Country." Blessings to all of you.
