WHERE IS THE LUO IN THIS EQUATION

Now Ngugi Wathiongo, a man I grew to respect turns around and tells the Kikuyus that they should not let a leopard guard their goats. Of course the leopard is the luo in Odinga. I may be wrong but the fact that Raila is a luo contributed alot to Kibaki leutenants refusing to hand over power. The reason is that Kikuyus are afraid that the luos will go in a witchhunating crusades for the Kikuyus if they get power. What is very purplexing is what the source of this superstition is. I do not know neither does the majority of Kikuyus know why this belief still lingers around. Indeed the following questions should be asked

Since when did the kikuyu cultivate this hatred for the luos what brought this hatred?

what did the luos do to the kikuyus to deserve this?

From history, the luos have been nothing but good to the Kikuyus. The luos handed over power to Kenyatta and then to Kibaki. Both the two presidents mistreated the luos and to make it worse now, Kibaki has just taken food off the mouth of Raila Odinga. What must be going thorugh Kibaki's mind like it was in Kenyatta's is may be "what are the luos going to do anyway?". Kenyatta did it and nothing happened. His belief is that the luos will run amock, loot, make noise and shout in the streets then get beaten and killed by the government forces and then go back home to nurse their wounds.

Yes this election was rigged, no question in my mind simply because the luos have an incredible patients and respect for the rule of law. However, if Kibaki succeeds this time then the saying that the luos do not have the balls to fight will totally come true. What I must tell the luos is that this is their last fight. The better do so untill the last man. The must earn their respect by letting the kikuyu leadership know that they are born men just like many of their leaders. And because this time this fight involve other tribes, the luos better fight back or shut up and forget democracy. Yes it is a fight for the democracy of the whole republic but if Muidavadi was the one who won it Kibaki could have easily conceded. He did so because he is afarid of Rila.

The war for democarcy has dragged our fellow Kenyans in it including the KALENJINS, LUHYAS AND THOSE AT THE COAST. However, these tribes are in this because they believed what we have believed for along time and that the Kikuyu leadership believe the presidency will never leave the house of mumbi.

It is therefore upon the luos to fight this fight intelligently and persistently so that this myth can die once and for all. It must be waged with everything on the table. The law, civil disobedience and an actual force must be all on the table.

There is no where in the world where the meet of democracy was ever deliver on a silver platta unaccompanied with a soup entirely made of blood.
