Finance Minister, Amos Kimunya says Raila will form the next govt Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2007 21:42:03 -0500 From: Lucia Akech On December 11, 2007,the Finance Minister, Mr. Amos Kimunya, speaking at some campaign event in Kisii voiced some warnings about items he feels must be honored/promised by ODM should they win the election. Item # 1: Investors and contracts he has guaranteed must be protected by the new administration . He warned that these investors do not trust any new leadership should the election results switch power anyone other than Mr. Kibaki. Why would any responsible government appointee engage in signing guaranteed contracts to investors without knowing the outcome of the pending elections? Additionally, why would these so called Kenyan investors stack the decks with contracts if they do not trust anybody else other than the current ruling elites? This would meant that they want to shove these contracts on the throats who Kenya tax payers. Are these not the very same investors who have been running Kenya and its citizens aground since independence? Item #2: ODM and Raila should guarantee that the jobs for current fat cats (the high ranking civil servants) are protected. The emphasis here is that the new administration should not do anything to change the poverty and unemployment situation in Kenya and the status quo of the rich getting richer and the poor heading for the grave yards must be maintained. Item #3: According to Mr. Kimunya, at least 7 ODM leadership members were the architects of the Anglo Leasing scandal . This is an interesting eleventh hour revelation. The implication is that seven or more ODM members were responsible for disbanding the corruption investigations by the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission! Are Kenyans voters so retarded that they cannot put two and two together? Can Mr. Kimunya explain whose interests were being served when (a) Mr. John Githongo fled to England (b) when Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission disbanded? If investors and high ranking civil servants must be protected by the incoming government, who should be responsible for protecting the interest of Kenyan citizens who are dying of poverty, disease and unemployment? Do the investors who have been running Kenya behind the scenes and the high ranking civil servants assisting them since 1963 give a damn about what is happening to the rest of the Kenya's population? Apparently they do not! WHO OWNS THESE PROPRTIES IN KENYA . Are they the people whose protection Mr. Kimunya was passionately appealing to the people of Kisii? How many times has Mr. Kimunya, his family or friends been a visitor at one these pristine lodges in Kenya. http://www.e-gnu.com/safari-lodges-camps-hotels-kenya.html http://www.e-gnu.com/country_info/southern_africa.html Any talk about Kenya or Africa focuses mainly on the HIV/AIDS, poverty, no running water, raw sewage, mosquitoes, violence, lawlessness and massive slum cities. You cannot imagine that there are mini palaces scattered all over the eastern portion of this continent from Kenya all the way to South Africa. If one looks at these palaces, you cannot believe you are in Africa. So, what is going on? It must be that our leaders have failed us. http://www.e-gnu.com/african-safari-accommodation/ African Horseback Riding: with the daily rates fit for a KING http://www.e-gnu.com/african_horseback_safaris_7_nights.html http://www.e-gnu.com/safari-lodges-camps-hotels-botswana.html Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
