Lucy Kibaki just wants to slap her way back the State House for five more years! From: Lucia Akech Dr. Barack Abonyo: You have eloquently expressed the point of view of many who are yearning to see a positive portrayal of the Republic of Kenya to the rest of the world. I am saddened by the fact that there are people who think that a behavior like that should be applauded what this lady (I am deliberately being very naive using the word 'lady') did. The ruling elites in Kenya have maintained an atmosphere where elected MPs who dared to voice opposing views would be summoned to the State House where they would slapped, whipped, caned., kicked,..., you name it. Some of these MPs ended up in detention if they were lucky or somewhere in Ngong Hills. The general Kenyan public with different opinions did not escape this wrath either. There are numerous intelligent Kenyans (professors, university students, journalists) who were jailed or forced to flee after being whipped or torch red by the power brokers. Some of those who survived detention came out mentally and emotionally beaten to the ground. The jobs that are being held by expatriates in Kenya be done by those highly educated Kenyans because some of these people are professors at top universities abroad. Why are these Kenyans not qualified to teach in Kenya's schools? Why are they a threat to Kenya? Not long ago, Lucy Kibaki and President Kibaki were presented to the world in an elaborate state dinner event at the White House by the USA president and his wife George W. Bush and Laura Bush. http://www.whitehouse.gov/statevisit/kenya-visit.html http://63.161.169.137/news/releases/2003/10/20031006-2.html http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/10/20031006-1.v.html The contempt the ruling elites have for the rest of the Kenya's population mind boggling. Lucy Kibaki is telling the whole world that she is above Kenya's laws,…, the untouchable. By destroying the tapes of that despicable display, the cheer leaders agree with her!! There is a very chilling message sent when Kenyan officials and elected members of parliament are subjected to being slapped, whether done in public or behind closed doors, and the evidence destroyed. These people condoning that kind of public spectacle are the same people fighting tooth and nail to continue ruling the Kenya. Kenyans must understand the why slum cities with no sewage and running water are everywhere. According to these elites, the rest of Kenya's population belongs in these slum cities or else they will be slapped!!!! Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
