ODM May lose further in Parts of Nyanza, quite sad! From: Naaman Ochieng You may have heard that PNU candidates have gone unopposed in parts of Nyanza, Nyatike constituency to be specific. Your guess is as good as mine, something went wrong somewhere, because this does not happen happen even in Central Province. The sad thing is that the media failed to capture what happened in Nyatike during the party primaries. Actually, elections did not take place, thanks to the compromised ODM returning officers who played to the tune of one parliamentary candidate (Edic Anyanga). The latter's vehicles ferried and distributed ballot papers to the polling stations, while his henchmen decided how many ballot papers were appropriate for a given polling station, in fact some stations received as few as sixty ballot papers and no more than 100 for the friendly stations. You can guess what happened to the rest of the ballot papers. Apparently these guys did not have the time to mark the papers for civic candidates, so they finished their business in time and ferried the papers to Maculder (Nyatike) township. With the protection of the police and the provincial administration, the genuine papers were blocked from getting into the counting hall. By now you must understand how we ended up with our ODM parliamentary candidate - minus the civic candidates. The ODM head office apparently did not award the certificate to Mr. Anyanga, but to Dr. Ogutu. It's not clear where the certificate presented by Mr. Anyanga came from. There was drama at Sori where the papers were being presented when the police and hired goons mounted road blocks to stop Mr. Ogutu from presenting his papers. In a movie like stealth, Dr. Ogutu managed to arrive at the hall and handed in his letter that was stopping Mr. Anyanga from presenting his papers. Sources say that Mr. Anyanga tore Mr. Ogutu's papers before the ECK officers and proceeded to present his and the battle proceeded to the courts The people of Nyatike may choose to drop the ODM candidate for an alternative...this is a viatal lesson for the future.
