Letter to His Excellency Mon, 31 Dec 2007 13:31:03 +0030 From: Noah Otieno My idea was to write to statehouse or office of the president but both websites were temporarily unreachable. The president of kenya was yesterday sworn after a very questionable polls outcome. I'm a very ordinary kenyan but I urge that you give ear to this voice which may be a reflection of the majority of kenyans whose voice no doubt you have heard in the streets across the country. Nonetheless congratulations sir since some kenyans such as in Othaya are in celebrations as other kenyans suffer the consequence of voting your friend turned enemy. Before 27th Dec elections, your security personnel volunteered information to members of the public of intended rigging using APs. You denied it but a few days later strange people were spotted in several parts of the country. That was plan B heading for defeat and already the fate of plan A had been sealed by several opinion polls. Since a win was your priority, you hatched a fruitful plan C within PNU zones. Bits of plan C managed to leak at the 11th hour, but since ECK was part of plan C according to information volunteered to the public by an ECK clerk, nothing could have been done about it. He categorically stated that most of plan C was executed right at the ECK desk. Still the ECK chairman is in record for publicly declaring that Gatanga had 115% turn out. This translates to an extra 24000 votes- Gatanga has 85765 registered voters and with approximated voter turn out of 80%, we get my figure of 24000. EU press release confirmed the Molo case reported to have 75000 instead of the official figure of 50000. If only two PNU strongholds accounted for 49000 irregular votes, we can all infer the outcome of irregularity in over 40 such constituencies. Furthermore ODM agents in Meru confirmed that they witnessed several altered figures from Meru and gave the report to the security officers who advised them to calm it down. I challenge you to site one case in ODM stronghold where there was irregularity. At the end of elections, ODM has over 100 seats with a majority of seats and votes in all provinces but Central and Eastern provinces. You have about 40 seats mainly in Central and upper Eastern provinces. You have chosen to defy the the voice of the majority in kenya, essentially representing the voice of God. You have served Kenya many years but have little regard for the citizens of the Republic of Kenya; in your understanding kenya is Central and Eastern Provinces. A loser should not invite friendly parties to form a government. Similarly, an intellectual president should not force second term by hook and crook. Whoever advised you has equally booked for you the same rank with Mugabe, Mobutu etc. Let kenyans bear the consequences of the present circumstances for now, but sir, God will hold you responsible for it all.
