ODM-DIASPORA URGENTLY CAUTIONS PRESIDENT KIBAKI ODM-Diaspora urged free, fair and peaceful democratic elections in Kenya. The international community respects the tradition of peaceful transition of power for which Kenya is proud to have experienced in 2002. This tradition safe-guards the country from abuse of power by her leaders and prevents acts that compromise democratic principles. ODM-Diaspora urgently requests President Mwai Kibaki to respect the peoples will and gracefully concede defeat. At this time such action from the President is the pragmatic action to take so that the country can avoid anarchy, civil disobedience, unnecessary blood shed and potential economic collapse. ODM Secretariat in the Diaspora issues the strongest condemnation to the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) for delaying presidential results and demands that ECK announce the presidential results immediately. The international community will critically judge the ECK for its inaction. ODM Diaspora appeals to all Kenyans to rally behind Raila Amolo Odinga as the elected fourth President of the Republic of Kenya. The ODM secretariat in Diaspora also strongly appeals to all Kenyans to be calm as we wait for the ECK announcement of Hon. Odinga as the Fourth President of the Republic of Kenya today.
