Vs: WHERE IS KIBAKI'S INTELECTUALISM IN THIS COMPAIGN Dr. Abonyo & all That is a very good analysis you have put forward. People say history repeats itself, but does it?. When I look back at the 2002 election, it looks Moi never believed that Kibaki will win the election. If Moi knew that Kibaki could win the election and not Ohuru Kenyatta we would be having another type of Kenyan history today. What I am trying to say is this: if Moi knew the opposition`s potential of winning in 2002, he Moi would have prevented it e.g by rigging in massive numbers or transfering power to somebody else or even sticking to power. Or do you want to tell me that Moi is a democrate who loved to lose?. Look at other countries for example; Russian history in all 600 years of Russian political history, the only President who transfered power peacefully to the next person was Boris Yeltsin. Nobody in Russian political history has done what Yeltsin did. And you know Africa is full of dictators, direct and indirect. I do not think Kibaki is stupid, he might be, but the force behind Kibaki`s re- election are not stupid and they know very well that they have a lot to lose if Raila wins, so what do you think they are going to do?. To any thinking Kenyan I do think the party is not yet over for these Kibaki`s lovers. Here is a quick rundown of problems. Massive rigging, Mungiki disturbances during election, lack of voting cards in ODM strong holds, dumping votes or burning votes in ODM strong hold or arranging even road accidents, ECK members, computer manipulation, killing the winner or even making the military to take over( indirect change of power). Kibaki knows very well that people have grown angry about the cost of living, prices are high, people nolonger believe in him. Kenyans need change. Any body with brain and advisers must know that something is absurd about this years election, you even saw how parliamentary aspirants were treated so what is it absurd with presidential election this year?. There must be something cooking!!!. Paul Nyandoto Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
