RAILA 'maybe' OUT 'OF LANGATA RACE

ODM Presidential Aspirant and incumbent Langata Constituency MP - Raila Amolo Odinga ‘Agwambo’ is not a registered Langata Constituency Voter, as his name does not appear on the register!

Reports from the ground indicate that the atmosphere in and around Langata Constituency and by extension Nairobi, is building with tension as members of the public get wind of what is happening at the polling stations.

What was regarded as a scam by the ODM supporters has now turned into a one-nightmare reality show.  Names starting with letters ‘A’, ‘O’, and ‘E’ are not on the polls register released by the Electoral Commission of Kenya.   Largely the Luo and Luhya tribes, who happen to be the majority residents in Langata and are believed to be bonafide supporters of Raila and ODM, have their surnames starting with these letters. This move had been revealed by the ODM intelligence machinery as far back as October 2007.

Raila has written a letter of complaint to the ECK.  But whether this will be answered on time and the situation rectified to correct the anomaly is another thing all together.  Whoever ensured this happened may have also ensured that the appeal procedure will not be capable of correcting any wrongs in time to allow the claimants to vote.  This will certainly be a recipe to civil disorder.  If this, has also been taken care of, then May God Help Kenya.
