deleted voter names, misdirected regional voting papers The forwarded article [posted above] from Kenya London News reported a major problem with records at poling places in the region candidate Raila O. would himself vote. Surnames beginning with ‘A', ‘O', and ‘E' were missing from lists used to authenticate a person as being on the rolls of those properly registered to vote. It is the kind of move which is easy to accomplish with electronic record keeping / reporting / printing. However, it seems so blatantly incorrect on its face, so likely to attract a flood of dispute rather than going unnoticed, to make us wonder about the logic used in this kind of editing. Anyone who tried to defend it as valid would have their legitimacy and sanity questioned. If deliberately authorized by the national leadership, I am amazed at the ease, but clumsiness of such a political plan. Another article on this site is titled Ballot paper mix up as elections begin. In a number of instances, region specific voting paper supplies had been transported to the incorrect regional poling sites. Added these together, rases the following speculation in my mind. Suppose we postulate that some entity, identity not yet reveled, hatched a 'plan', a political dirty trick, for a rather simple intended aim. Namely, generate sufficient chaos and errors so as to destroy public confidence in the validity of the election results, regardless of outcome. Perhaps there may be other busy-bodies attempting to steer election results in addition to the visible domestic Kenyan national competing political parties. Will there be formal calls for a re-match citing these factors? - - awebmech - - Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
