Three Piece in Ugenya…? The so called three-piece debate that has been going on in the political sector, especially in Luo Nyanza, for the past few weeks is a topic that is meant to mislead us the electorate. What the people had decided already during the past nominations exercise in Luo Nyanza (Kicking out twenty one (21) former MPs) should be an indicator for even the left four (4) MPs that we are out for a change and not just a change but a better one for our future. We realized what the former MPs worked for in our respective constituencies. The MPs who worked for the people don’t even have to defend themselves because all they did speak for itself. According to the past system of the government, it was the MPs who had to come up with the precise clean manifesto that would have a road map for required development agenda for our constituencies. A good example is the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) - so much had been said about it - that proved to be so tempting for most of our MPs. I call it tempting because for non - managerial minded MPs thought that this money belonged to them and their family members. A close look at the lay out of the use of this fund in my Constituency, Ugenya, shows how my former MP, Olouch Ondiek, was actually not the right person to be an MP, a leader of the people, not even to mention his status as a religious leader! It was so shameful of him to spend most part of this money in the area where he comes from and to stay with it in a Restaurant - Savanna Lodge. Here comes his brother-in-law, James Orengo Aggrey. This is a highly learned man who was given a chance by Ugenya people only to misuse. We know what he has done in the democratic changing process of this nation, a fighter for the rights of the people and an outspoken figure. Orengo does not know the priorities of his constituents. He is not down to the people - only when he is looking for votes! Orengo wants to steal the show again back to the parliament. He begun by robbing the certificate of nomination from the winner and rightful candidate - Steve Okoth Mwanga. He is now hiding behind Raila, pretending to be praising him in his campaigns. He plus other contesters are preaching the Gospel of Three-Piece voting system. First of all Orengo should know one thing that he violated the course of human rights he worked for, by hanging on to the certificate that he did not successfully win! He robbed Steve Mwanga of his democratic right. Second he has clearly shown what type of a leader he is/wants to be. He is a thief! Third he has not shown any interest for the people of Ugenya for the past five years - he only wants his name heard in the parliament, he is mean. Forth for the past terms he was chanced he never was seen often at home - he is not development minded. This man Steve Mwanga has been able to participate in very many development programs in our constituency for the past two years. He is not yet an MP but he knows about the security threats, he understands that the key to ones better future is education - many children are in high schools because of his initiative. He is a generous God-fearing man who has assisted in the construction of many churches - regardless of the sect or denomination. Mwanga is a simple man who is only looking for the brighter future of this nation - leave a lone his constituency. The little money, (some propaganda is that he gets it from PNU), has found it way for use in the grassroots that is very dirty for Orengo to be in. An advice for Orengo is to stop using Raila’s name in his campaigns. Remember Raila is not going to impose you on us. Your advocating for the so-called Three-Piece is to let you go through with that stolen ODM nomination certificate. We are not going to vote party but a personality - I think this is more objective. And for our President, we don’t even need to Mention - Agwambo Tosha!! Emmanuel OSBJa-Uholo. Emmanuel Oloo, osb Prince of Peace - Tigoni Kenya. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
