Re: More Videos of Kenyan Police Killing Civilians Wed, 16 Jan 2008 22:36:43 -0800 (PST) From: Bobby O. Thanks Oto, It is time every Kenyan condemned the loss of innocent lives just because a Mr. Michuki or a Mr. Saitoti gave an order to shoot-to-kill. It should not be tolerated at whatever price peace-loving Kenyans have to pay. Any unarmed and innocent peaceful protesting Kenyan should not be shot to death just because he or she is raising a placard that is denouncing the government's undemocratic acts. And it is high time the Kenyan police got just a little bit better training on the difference between a peaceful demonstration and a riot where looting of private property is involved. The police should be guarding private property and not invading residential estates and shooting folks on sight just because certain undetermined emotional reactions force them to do so. In my view such police force need more psychological evaluations than the innocent wananchi they are pre-maturely sending to graves. Afterall the poor mwananchi cannot even afford any mental or pyschological evaluations. Such programs don't exist in Kenya and these are some of the things the poor folks are fighting for. Government welfare programmes! Equality for all..! Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
