Fri, 25 Jan 2008 07:24:40 -0800 (PST) ODM Seeks Relief for Mortuary Charges, Curfew in Nakuru Orange Democratic movement is now calling upon the Nairobi city Council to Waiver of Ksh 266 000 mortuary charges for 43 bodies lying in the mortuary. Addressing a press conference at Orange House, ODM sec Prof Ayang Nyongo said "The city council should waiver the charges because the deaths came as a result of police shootings''. However by the time of going to the press the council had not yet responded. At the same time ODM and PNU have forwarded their rules of engagement to the mediation secretariat and are still waiting for approval before it can be made public. Elswhere news just in from Nakuru is that the police have issued an alert that no one should be found in the city center by 7pm to 7am after freash violence broke out today at around five after youths barricaded roads heading to Eldoret and saying that they are not going to watch their fellow tribesmen being killed The area is now under tight security watch as residents a have fleed their homes and jammed the Nakuru police station that is right now capacitated and police have had to build a perimeter wall around the area so to guard others from outside. Kofi Anan was sopposed to tour the area today but his tour had to be cancelled for security reasons as the situation slowly got out if hand .
